Dell executives: ‘rumors of massive layoff inaccurate’

AUSTIN (KXAN) – Dell executives released a statement to KXAN News to dispel the rumors about a massive layoff.

According to the statement from Director of Corporate Affairs David Frink, Dell has “taken steps to optimize its business, streamline operations and improve its efficiency over the past few years.” This includes a continuous review of operations.

Frink did go on to say, however, that members of Dell’s global team had accepted the company’s offer of a “significant” severance package associated with a “voluntary separation program.”

He insisted that Dell continues to hire in strategic areas of the company like hardware and software development, engineering and customer coverage worldwide. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
