STOCKTON, Calif.  (NBC/KCRA) — The California Highway Patrol and Stockton police chased a stolen big rig for nearly four hours.

The slow-speed chase began around 3:15 a.m. and ended at 7 a.m. Thursday in a Stockton neighborhood.

The suspect eventually jumped out of the big rig and ran into a nearby neighborhood.

Officers ran after him for just a few minutes before catching him between houses.

A California Highway Patrol officer said the truck was carrying about 80,000 pounds of scrap metal and about 100 gallons of diesel fuel.
