SANTIAGO, Chile (NBC/TVN VIA RTV) — A Chilean family woke up to a shocking breakfast guest.
They found this 2-year-old puma in their kitchen Wednesday morning.
According to local reports, a family member said she enclosed the animal in the kitchen and quickly alerted the authorities who came to investigate.
Police said it was likely the puma was kept as a pet and either escaped or was released into the wild and was trying to make its way home when it came across the family’s home.
The puma never attacked the family.
Officials from Chile’s Agricultural Service were called in to safely remove the animal from the home.
The puma was taken to the National Zoo, where it was treated for minor injuries.
Officials have yet to announce what will happen with the animal once it has recovered from its unlikely adventure.
