Austin celebrates ‘Mack and Sally Brown Day’

It’s official, Thursday has been declared “Mack and Sally Brown Day” here in Austin.

Mayor Lee Leffingwell is holding a ceremony in honor of the retired University of Texas football coach at Thursday’s City Council meeting. The Browns will be recognized for their 16 years of service to Austin and the university’s football program.

The Texas State Senate and UT student government will give presentations to celebrate the former coach.

KXAN.com will plan to live stream the event. It is scheduled to start about 5:30 p.m.
