MAIN BEACH, Australia (CNN/Seven Network) — Flames and smoke shot into the sky, dwarfing luxury boats at a local marina in Main Beach off Australia’s Gold Coast.

Authorities are investigating if a fire that destroyed three luxury boats and badly damaged a fourth was deliberately lit.

Arson hasn’t been ruled out, as at least four boats were in flames when emergency services arrived.

They are now at the bottom of the Palazzo Versace Marina — a floating inferno worth $5 million.

The fire was fast and fierce, fueled by fiberglass and more than 2,000 liter of diesel.
