Perry appeals FEMA denial

Volunteers provide flood assitance

On Saturday, Governor Rick Perry submitted an 82 page appeal after FEMA denied aid to individuals affected by the Halloween flood.

FEMA previously denied aid for individuals but agreed to help governments with off setting the cost.

In a letter to President Obama, the governor appealed federal denial of individual assistance and also requested that FEMA grant all eligible Individual and Households Programs, including:

  • Transitional Sheltering Assistance
  • Other Needs Assistance
  • Disaster Legal Services
  • Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program
  • Disaster Unemployment Assistance
  • Crisis Counseling
