More than a thousand runners hit the streets of downtown Austin Saturday morning dressed as gorillas.
The annual Five-K benefits the Mountain Gorilla Conservation Fund – a non-profit that provides veterinary care to the endangered animals in central Africa.
One runner we spoke with says the run is great training for a larger race.
“I’m currently training to hopefully qualify for the Olympic trials in the marathon, so a lot of my training makes running in a gorilla suit not as difficult as other things I aspire to do,” said Rory Tunningley.
This was the fourth annual Gorilla Run.
