At least 50 flights in and out of Austin were canceled as a winter storm made its way into the city Thursday.

Flight providers including US Airways, American Airlines, United Airlines and Southwest Airlines were all calling off flights into the capital city.

The airport said 30 flights in and out of Austin Bergstrom International Airport were canceled on Thursday and 20 more flights were canceled for Friday.

ABIA said they were working to keep runways, taxiways and roadways clear during the storm. Airlines are in charge of de-icing planes.

The airport says passengers need to check their flight status before leaving for the airport, especially if you are connecting through another airport.
