LA GRANGE, Texas (KXAN) – The suspect of a triple homicide that happened in New York City was arrested in Fayette County on Monday after investigators tracked him down through his cell phone.
Authorities were able to identify the subject as Miguel Ramos-Mejia, after he gave police a fake name and date of birth.
Investigators pinged Ramos-Mejia’s phone and when they received a signal on his approximate location, the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigation Department contacted the Fayette County Troopers. They were able to find Ramos-Mejia driving a stolen vehicle near the Shulenburg exit on Interstate 10. where they surrounded him with help from Fayette County Deputies and Schulenburg Police.
New York City police detectives are en route to La Grange to interview Ramos-Mejia.
