APD captures escapee at call for shots fired

Austin Police captured a man who had escaped from custody after they responded to a call for shots fired on Monday.

Officers were called to 3103 Loyola Street where 15 shots were fired. But, when police arrived on the scene they were greeted with more shots being fired at a nearby location.The disturbance came from the 6700 block of Tulsa Cove and their investigation led officers to call on the narcotics team to help.

It was at the second location that APD was able to apprehend the man with the outstanding warrant for escape from custody. No further information has been released at this time, KXAN will report details as they emerge.
