ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) – Police confirm a shooting at Berrendo Middle School in Roswell, N.M. has left children hurt, according to KXAN News sister station KRQE.

Roswell police say that the shooter has been apprehended, and there are reports that children are hurt.

A hospital official says a 14-year-old with injuries is being airlifted from Roswell to a hospital in Lubbock, Texas. UMC Children’s Hospital is the closest that can handle the type of injuries that person has, according to NBC News.

Meanwhile, two people are being transferred to Eastern New Mexico Medical Center in Roswell.

Officials are urging parents not to go to the school at this time, and the school is under lockdown. Parents can pick up their children at the Roswell Mall, where students are being bussed from the school.
